VERY concise! It's 40 pages with large print. Not worth the money. Not all that insightful either. People looking for a short introduction to American Indians would do better to see Perdue and Green's "North American Indians, A Very Short Introduction" which is equally short, but has more real information such as summary of the major policy issues.Actually, not concise because the word concise means not only brief, but also distilling the essence of a subject. Native american have great impacts on the present americans now. I never thought that the reason why the natives in america were called indians because columbus thought that this land is india. However, despite being low in populations, the american indians still has lived all throughout today. Their ways of living influenced the way we live today even though we are now in a very convenient world made by technologies nonetheless, their ways of surviving are somewhat relevant to how we live today. This book has briefly and informatively explained the history of the native americans.
Unbelievably short and lacking in content - the whole book is a mere 32 pages long, thinner than any free report I could download from the web any day for free. At $13, this is clearly a rip-off.
