I am a high school student who has taken/is still going to take the SATs. Like most students, my weakest subject is Critcal Reading, then writing. I'm telling you, there's no better book (other than the BB) for CR and writing. I find it to be slightly more challenging than the BB, but so what? Practice hard, ace the test right? Yeah i agree with the other reviewers that there are seldom incorrect explanations, but that's common in every book. In my opinion, I think the explanations themselves are really in-depth and understandable, which is what you would want in an SAT book. I can't say anything for the Math section, as I usually skip them (I just take practice sections, not tests with these), because I have done well on the Math. Plus, McGraw-Hill uses white (as in white like this page) paper, which is a nice contrast to Barron's or princeton review, which usually has a more yellowish-color to it, so McGraw-Hill is better on the eyes. If you're a student looking to improve CR and Writing, look no further; this is your answer (other than BB).
I bought this book to get prepared for the upcoming SAT exam.After soliving the first three practice exams from the book, I realized thatthe style and the levels for each sections were different.Especially for the math section, the questions were unnecessarily hard when compared with the actual exam and the collegeboard edition of SAT prep book.Questions for reading were easier than the actual exam as a total, but the section itself was not as horrible as the math section.Writing seemed to be the only section worth solving.I strongly recommend this book used for additional practice only, but surely not the only book used to prepare for the SAT exam.
This book is a complete solution for SAT. There are 12 tests in the book and they are difficult enough to test out the students' knowledge. I am a private tutor and I ask my student to buy this one. I highly recommend it.
Another good book for SAT preparation. I have already recommended this to my friends whose children are preparing for SAT.
It was a little bent by the shipping package, but nothing to really worry about. A little obnoxious writing in the book too, but over, good.
Just similar to other SAT past papers, this one is pretty useful for practicing SAT. Those explanations are clear and they do help a lots.
My son's high school asked us to get this book for class. I have found this book to be a great source of practice tests that will prepare him for the upcoming SAT tests.
