She is Executive Director of the Knapp Center for Childhood Development located in Boardman, OH, which specializes in the diagnosis, neuropsychological assessment and treatment of children with autism spectrum disorders. Dr. Knapp offers an International ABA Program assisting families from other parts of the world to travel to the US for ABA therapy. She offers remote training and supervision on ABA programs through a HIPPA secure website to families across the world who otherwise cannot find local ABA therapy or who want expert advice on their program. Dr. Knapp is also a Consultant at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital and holds an appointment at Case Western Reserve University. Carolline Turnbull, BA, BCaBA is a Board Certified Associate Behavior Analyst at KidsLink Neurobehavioral Center in Twinsburg, OH. Carolline is a behavior consultant for home and school-based consultation and developed a dance class for children ages 3-6 with varying disabilities and their neurotypical peers. I haven't finished reading the book (only covered the first two chapters), so I'll try to give an updated review once I'm done with it and have taken the Section B of the exam.I got this book because a lot of people said this is a must-read in preparation of the LARE. It reads like a textbook, so it's dry and not exactly an exciting reading material. The pages I've read also covered quite a bit on buildings/structures, so it's not only on Landscape Architecture, but covers materials on a broader planning level too. IMO, if you've been practicing for a few years professionally, nothing really comes as a surprise to you, but it's a good way to retrain yourself to learn to read a textbook again. The sample LARE questions I took/read would require you to know how to read the text in a very academic way.Echoing off another comment, the supporting images were next to impossible to read. There were several presentation style boards that were shrunken down to fit onto the page, but you'd need to read the text to know what the boards are about. The quality of the images were blurry, very pixelated and grey scaled. The pixelation made the grey scaling limited in contrast, and sadly, I can't decipher the information on these images. Maybe the digital version of the book would be easier to read, but it really was disappointing to have to skip over the supporting images simply because you simply can't read the information.

Text is not helpful, graphics are low quality, blurry, and unreadable, and when they are higher quality the black and white images and cheap book materials render them indecipherable. Would not recommend,

This is a great book if you have an intermediate understanding of music theory and an interest in the inner workings of composition. Just be clear to note that this book does not address songwriting. It is packed full of the backbones of songwriting like structure, harmony, rhythm and melody but it does not apply it to a pop music media. Reading this book will give you a good grasp of how these things come together to form a composition but if you're looking to learn about the art of writing a song then it is best you look elsewhere.It is an easy read and has tons of examples. There is no accompanying CD so if you cannot sight read, the examples probably won't help you. If this sounds like you, reading a basic music theory book beforehand would be a wise choice.

This book forced mw to confront my lack of fret board knowledge. In the process I gained enlightenment about the fret board and how to construct chords. It's a beautiful process,every beginner should just sit with their guitar and construct chords. It'll make you think differently and make you attuned to sounds beyond the regular triad stuff.I'm about a few pages in and have learnt more now that I ever could watching youtube stuff. Just gotta sit down with a pencil and paper and construct chords.

This is a great introduction to music composition. Between this and the book on music theory I like this one better as it focusses a litle more on art-music (though not as much as I had hoped), but it is still a very very helpfull book.As for theory, Michel Miller's book was extreamly usefull in helping me understand most basic principles, though a lot of principles concerned with art-music composition are better represented elsewere (classical harmony, counterpoint, etc.)This observation is purely my own as this book is very thourough in introducing harmony and counterpoint that would benifit begining composers in the pop/rock/country/eccetra... idioms.This is a great book and one that I re-read frequently. In my opinion, any one interested in music composition should read this book.

I checked this out at the library more with a view to understanding the process of composition than to set out to compose. With the little bit of theory I have (Grade 5) and with the author's insights on creating melodies, I was able to compose two short pieces for piano. They sound pretty good, too! I am working on a third piece, and have just placed an order for this book.Miller writes in a nice, lucid style, and makes the process of composing seem quite do-able. I gravitated to creating the melody first and then harmonizing it, but Miller acknowledges that many people might prefer to start with a chord progression, and shows you how to compose in this way as well.It's helpful to have trained one's ear (the Paul Harris books and Musicians' Institute publication are very good) and to have 2-3 years of playing under one's belt. By that time you've seen enough scores and done enough theory to be up and running after a perusal of this book. It's also a good idea to work through the exercises - I do mean to do start doing the exercises, but couldn't help writing up more than just 4-8 measures of a melody line.

As most reviewers have said, one needs to have some background/knowledge about music before starting to use this book. It just so happens that I am just over the line wherein this book can be helpful to me! I love the exercises at the end of each chapter!!

This "book" is an absolute joke. There's children's short stories with more information than this short essay masquerading around as a book. Efron gives you first hand experience on dropshipping by providing minimal information at maximum profit.

Relief...definitely relieved after reading this book. As a typical woman, my hair has always been a major part of my appearance and an outward sign of who I am. But lately, through stress and illness my hair has been going through some radical changes that have only added to the stress...I needed some professional help which is why the title of this book caught my eye quickly and am I ever glad it did! The author covered everything from several reasons why my hair is changing, what I can do about it, and how to adapt through different hairstyles and styling products. It also explains the tips and tricks of dealing with long hair and what is in style. Lucky for me, I discovered my long hair is still perfectly in style even though we see so many in Hollywood with short hairstyles. I am pleased that I can still wear my hair in the ways I prefer with a few minor changes to the style that bring it more current. I really appreciated the tips on simple cut adjustments that will make it work even better with my round face. This book had a lot more information than I expected and it will definitely be useful around my house between me and my three girls!

This book was a great find! I have really been enjoying discovering eBooks lately. I have had an opportunity to learn about a lot of things I have always been curious about, and learning more about some of the definitions and science behind my hair has been one of them. This book is great because it is really accessible but provides a lot of great information that helps you decipher all the hair products on the shelves. It also gives you a lot of good ways to test out what kind of hair you actually have. Then, it goes on to describe products and styles that would work best for you. It even gets into some of the science behind what makes hair greasy or fragile and why. I think my favorite part was when the author gives ideas for home remedies. She brings up some of the hottest trends in salons and then recommends ways in which you can achieve the same results with ingredients you can find around your home or in your grocery store, without the fancy price tag.

The book really taught me a lot about my hair and how to care for it properly. I learned what hair type I have, how hair changes with age, and how to really care for my hair. Chapter 4 taught me some great styling tips. I learned so much about the different styling products do to hair and how to use them the right way. This book will teach you so much about your hair you'll be amazed.

Right away I see tons of information that I can use with my hair type within the first two chapters. I did feel that the ‘styling aid’ section left out various forms that are available today. Some of the information within the book is basic common sense so one can feel free to skip over this part. I found the chapter on growing your hair to be extremely useful in that for someone with hair like mine, I shouldn’t be doing much styling at all. As I get a little closer to 40 I was grateful to see that there is no unwritten rule that states one should cut their hair as they age. I tend to keep my hair long because I grow it out to donate. I’m glad to see that if I choose to keep it long there’s no reason for me not to.

There is nothing too extravagant about this book, but the information within is very well-researched and goes over everything from maintaining your hair to awesome hair styling tips for everyone and every kind of hair. This book is great because it is covers so many areas of hair care you literally won`t have to get another hair care book again. My favorite part of the book has to be chapter 3 where the author goes over the different types of shampoos and conditioners for different types of hair, and coincidently found out I actually be using the wrong kind of conditioner, talk about a life saver!I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves their hair and wants to find out countless ways to achieve and maintain beautiful, healthy hair.
